SUNDAY ADEWALE ADESOKAN ESQ. LLM, FCIArb.(UK), SAN

Mr. Adesokan is our Principal. He attended the University of Lagos, and graduated with Bachelor of Laws as the best student in his class in 1986. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Bar in October 1987. In 1998 he was sworn in as a Notary Public of Nigeria. In 2003 he completed his Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Ibadan. In 2005 he was registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Capital Market Solicitor. He is also an Arbitrator, having been admitted as Member, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) in June 2011. He became a Fellow of the same Institute in November, 2013. He is also a Certified Mediator. He was sworn in as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria on September 19, 2016.

Wale Adesokan has been in active legal practice since his Call to the Bar. He practiced at the law firm of Messrs. Niyi Oyetunde & Co. during his National Youth Service in Jos, Plateau State from 1987 to 1988. Upon completion of his Service he was given a permanent appointment by the firm. He immediately began to appear at the District Courts, Magistrate Courts, Special Military Tribunals, High Courts (Federal and State) and the Court of Appeal where he conducted both criminal and civil cases. As young as he then was at the Bar, the civil cases that he handled at that time included recovery of debts, recovery of possession, trespass to land, persons and goods, and wrongful dismissal. The criminal cases that he handled included criminal breaches of trust and causing deaths by dangerous driving.

He resigned from Niyi Oyetunde & Co. in December 1989 to join the Chambers of The Late Chief G. O. K. Ajayi, SAN in January 1990. He worked there till January 1996. At G. O. K. Ajayi & Co. he was Head of Chambers from September 1991 till his resignation in January 1996. He added regular appearances at the Supreme Court and the Civil Disturbances, Election and Arbitration Tribunals to the category of Courts before which he had been appearing in Jos. The subject matter of cases that he handled also expanded to cover corporate governance, banking, oil and gas, copyright, patent, administration of estates, Chieftaincy, matrimonial causes and trade mark matters. He was also exposed to documentation of loan syndication agreements, preparation and perfection of leases, tenancy agreements and conveyances. He also conducted several cases before various Failed Banks and Military Tribunals.

He registered his the firm and has been Principal in the Chambers since February 1996. He is a practicing domestic and international solicitor, advocate, arbitrator, notary public and trade mark agent and has acted as counsel in various proceedings from the lowest to the highest court in Nigeria. He has been Counsel in several arbitration proceedings and has been Arbitrator in some. He has been the representative of the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association on the Settlement Week Committee of the Lagos MultiDoor CourtHouse (LMDC) Governing Council since July 2011. He is a Member of the Governing Board of Christower International Schools, Chairman, Pristine Guest House Limited, Director, Ensemble Multibiz Limited, Director, Travelright Limited and a host of other companies.

He has travelled widely. He has attended many conferences, seminars and workshops within and outside the shores of the country. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK), the National Geographic Society of the United States of America and the International Bar Association.

 
 
SUNDAY EDWARD LLM, BL

Sunday Edward is a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria who was called to the Nigerian Bar on 25th February, 1998 and has been involved in active legal practice since the day of his call to the Nigerian Bar. He attended the University of Ibadan and the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) where he obtained his LL.B and LL.M in 1997 and 2004 respectively.

Edward practiced at the Law Firm of J.C Ebuh and Co. (Abudu, Edo State) during his National Youth Service in Edo State in 1998. He joined Adesokan & Co. in 1999. As a qualified and seasoned Legal Practitioner, Sunday Edward is experienced in various areas of law including Commercial and Corporate Law, Law of Banking, Administrative and Constitutional Law, Communication and Aviation Law, Civil and Criminal Litigations, Arbitration and Reconciliation and he offers professional advice on these wide spectrum of the law.

Edward is adept atLegal Consultancy, Loan Recovery, Probate Matters, Registration of Companies, Business Names, Associations, Trade Marks, Patent and Designs and he renders secretarial services to clients.

With the experience he obtained from his LL.M programme in Legislative Process and Legislative Drafting, Edward involves himself in a lot of drafting, perusing and reviewing of agreements, mortgages, debentures, trust deeds, bonds, documents relating to loans syndication, equipment leasing, conveyancing, perfecting and registration of titles, including securing Government consents to various forms of landed transactions and obtaining Statutory Right of Occupancy. Edward is equally strong in the areas of education and training as he serves as facilitators at seminars organized by establishments such as Institute of Credit Administration and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria on current topical issues in Banking and Commercial Law. Sunday Edward is a member of various professional bodies including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners of Nigeria (BRIPAN) and International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals (IARIBP).

 
ABEL ABEME LLM, BL

Mr. Abel Abeme attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) from 1986 to 1990. He graduated with Second Class Honors. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991. He completed the Master's Degree Programme in Law from the same University in 1994. Mr. Abeme joined the Chambers of Messrs Kehinde Onafowokan (SAN) and Co. in 1996. He worked there till 1998. He left Kehinde Onafowokan and Co in 1998 to join the Chambers of Chief Bayo Akinbisehin (SAN) and Co. He joined our law firm in June 2016.

 
 
AYODEJI OGUNLANA LLM, BL

Ayodeji Ogunlana obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) in 2008 from the prestigious Igbinedion University Okada and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2010. He started his legal practice at Rotimi Fabamwo & Co, as an Associate with a passion for litigation. He later joined Pisteuo Mathmer Solicitors a Corporate/Commercial law firm in 2014 and got involved in several commercial litigation and Intellectual property matters. He proceeded to the University of Lagos were he obtained his Master Degree in Law in 2015. His core strengths are in Corporate and Commercial Law, Legal Research, Legal Drafting, Property Law and General litigation and Trade Mark. He joined Adesokan & Co. in 2016. He is a member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). His hobbies include Reading, watching movies and playing football.

 
 
JAMES UJAH (MISS) LLB (Hons.), BL

James Ujah is an indigene of Benue State. He completed his primary and secondary education in Makurdi, Benue State. He attended the Benue State University, Makurdi where he graduated and obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2010. He proceeded to the prestigious Nigeria Law School in 2010 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2011.

Mr. Ujah was posted to Lagos State by the National Youth Service Corp in 2011 for his one year compulsory Nation Service. He was posted to Adesokan & Co. where he diligently served his fatherland and was thereafter retained by our law firm as an Associate in 2012.

 
OYETOLA ADEWUNMI KUTEMI ( MRS.) LLB (Hons.), BL

A graduate from Olabisi Onabanjo University 2010 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. She had her compulsory National Youth Service Corp with Legal Aid Council, Osun State between November 2011 and October 2012. She joined the law firm of Rotimi Seriki & Co., in November 2012 where she worked as an Associate. She joined our law firm in February 2015 as an Associate. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos for her Masters in Law (LLM). Mrs Kutemi is adept in litigation and negotiated settlement/mediation.

 
HAMMED GBENGA OYEKUNLE ESQ., LLB (Hons.), BL
He hails from Osun State. He graduated with a Second Class Upper Division from and received an award for the Best Graduating Administrative Law Student from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. He attended the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus where he obtained a Second Class Upper Division and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2015. He started his legal practice at the law firm of Oluwagbemiga Olatunji and Co during his National Youth Service in Oyo State where he was exposed to active legal practice. Upon the completion of his service, he joined our firm in November 1st 2016. He has unflinching interest in litigation ranging from commercial disputes, recovery of possession, actions on trespass, criminal matters, Corporate matters etc. His hobbies are but not limited to reading autobiographies and non-fictional works.
 
 
SECRETARIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
 
OMOLOLA AKINRINDE

Lola Akinrinde, Secretary, is a Native of Ogun State. She is married with children. She attended Yaba College of Technology where she obtained OND in Secretarial Studies. She is presently studying for her High National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies. She worked with Jatori Nig. Ltd and briefly with Adekunle Adesanwo & Co. (Legal Practitioners) before joining this Law Firm on July 1, 2003.

She heads the Secretarial and Administrative Department of the Law Firm. Her hobbies include travelling, cooking and meeting people.

 
 
CHRISTOPHER C. CHIKEZIE

Chris Chikezie is the Office Manager. He is in charge of the Firm’s Accountings Department and supervises the deployment and maintenance of the information and telecommunication technology equipment of the Firm. He joined the Firm on October 2, 2002. He is a native of Abia State. He obtained his First School Leaving Certificate from Agburuike Community Primary School, Abia State and proceeded to St John’s Institute of Commerce, Agege Lagos, where he graduated in 1994. He later proceeded to John Hayes Computer Training School, where he obtained Diploma in Desktop Publishing.

He has worked with Bayewu & Co., Chartered Accountants as an Accounts Clerk, with John Hayes Industries Limited as a Secretary and Jcyberboss Cyber Café as a Supervisor.

He is happily married and blessed with children. His hobbies are Football, Reading, Travelling and working with Computers.
